Barber Aftermath & a Racer Warrior

A PVL magneto gone wrong and Sakis Vasilopoulos(GR) had a close contact with the tarmac. And here are the end results...  After less than a week after the accident, Sakis decided to do his best as to attend the next race and insure the 3rd place in the National 200GP. Still the same passion, still the same injuries, just another motorcycle... still a Yamaha though.  Bonus pic with Sakis and Derek “Nobby” Clark, race mechanic for stars like Kenny Roberts, Randy Mammola, Mike the Bike & Giacomo Agostini. Ignore the date, photo is from the second half of 2014...

Handmade Kubotan

I reckon that this is the first 2stroke irrelevant post in this blog... and it's about a handmade Kubotan. It is a self-defense keychain weapon, that I constructed as a gift. I just wanted to share some pics from the whole process and take a small break from messing with motorcycles ...but keep tight, fresh two stroke stuff coming soon. Some info : aerospace grade aluminum alloy, knurling pattern on three places that came out really nice, paracord style "box knot" and Krav Maga logo on one end. Have Fun!

Nsr250 boost bottle blank plugs

I've used some acetal to make a couple blank plugs on the lathe, as to remove the Nsr250 boost bottles. Here are a few pics... After the treatment on the lathe... Such a waste of material... And here is the end result. If you think this modification is useful, this is an option of how it can be done. Have fun!

Converting Nsr250 carb needles to adjustable.

There is an issue with the stock Nsr250 carburetor needles, the clip position is fixed and cannot be altered. This is fine for dead stock engines but may cause some troubles if any modifications have been done to the engine, e.g exhausts, derestriction of the PGM unit, opened air filters etc.  Of course, it's still far away from owning the complete HRC jet kit but a good option for people with mild tuned bikes. Anyway, let's make some chips...  The fixed clip removed... The fixed clip was positioned at 1.8mm from top of the needle and Keihin needles have clip positions about 0.8mm apart. So, I made three groves in total. That is, one groove for a leaner position, stock position and one richer position. For the grooves I used an HSS lathe tool grind to the correct dimensions for stock Keihin clips.   And here is the end result... As the fixed clip was thicker, a washer should be welded or pressed to the needle holder to accommodate for the thin...
