Here is a photo of an HRC memory card loading data to the main EEPROM of the PGMIV. Loading of the ignition map and data takes about half a minute, and it only happens once. After that, the PGM4 unit remembers the HRC card and is ready to run immediately.  There is an exception to this, and that is when you're using more than one HRC card. In this case, data loading to the PGMIV happens each time you change the HRC card. e.g., changing from P - 010 to P - 030 ignition map.  PGMIV will only remember the last HRC card that you used.  This never happens with the stock memory card as it's hardcoded to the PGM unit and always starts immediately.

  Recently matched standard memory card. The owner only had an HRC card and was missing the standard card. Along with his PGM4 unit, he provided an orphan card that I matched to work on his bike.  A memory card does not have to be for a specific use. So, in case of necessity, if the correct card cannot be sourced, any memory card will do. e,g a standard card can be converted to HRC P-010 specs and of course, vice versa.
