Both riders competed on a KTM EXC-300 bike.  Congrats to both of them!    Andreas Paragios profile on redbullromaniacs.com   Andreas Gklavas profile on redbullromaniacs.com

PGMIII Worst Case Scenario... we've got a new winner!

Due to lack of components and a couple PgmIII units with major problems, things were slow in the past few days. Had to open the aluminum side on two units. This is rarely needed if people don't insist riding their Nsr250 bike while the Pgm unit is on fire...! One of them is in the below photo, doesn't really look very bad at a first glance but the pcb was totally destroyed. It was seared enough to let components fall on the ground at the slightest move. So, I had to replace most of the parts with new ones and solder them point-to-point on both sides. I'm glad my skills on handmade guitar tube amps had fallen into place with digital electronics! The result looks quite amateur but there was no other way. Note the "ghetto" RC Valve tester... LOL This is by far the worst PGM I've repaired until now and to be honest I'm not sure I will go that route again, as it involves quite a few working hours and I think I'm slowly losing ...my stubbornness. Any...

Manifolds for 38mm carbs on Nsr250 Mc21/ 28 engines

Some general notes for those interested on converting stock Nsr250 carbs to PJ38mm or other carbs of the same venturi diameter. A popular conversion is using the NF5G (1991) manifolds and carbs but they are getting rarer every day, so here are a few tips that may help. The CR125R manifolds should be a straight fit though I'm not sure about the clearance between the Pj38mm carbs but the manifolds are a little bit offset anyway, so there should be no problems at all. The models you are looking for are Cr125 1987-2000 plus the 2002 model. By the way, the reed blocks are the same, so they are a straight swap, as is the V-Force equivalent (V301A). Thanks to  edetuckracing blog   for the exact model of the V-Force reed block. If you are lucky enough to find the nf5 carb manifolds, the mounting holes should be elongated about 2mm, so they can fit the nsr250 crankcases. Also, there may be a clearance issue while using a ram air (Harc-Pro, JHA or I-Factory) or HRC airbox wi...

Nsr250 Mc28 PgmIV

After quite a few repairs on PgmIV units, I have at last one for myself as well. It is equipped with a HRC P-010 card, so it's the perfect addition for my mc28 racing/ track bike.

Sweet Reverse Tz250

A nice looking Tz250U 3AK '88 model. Thinking of buying it though the asking price is a little bit on the high side but still is a nice and rare find. Sounds ready for a race as well... The reverse TZ250 models are the ones that really attracted some attention on Yamaha racing bikes. The engine is similar to previous TZ models but with the cylinders now reversed 180 degrees with the carbs in front and the exhausts exiting straight to the rear. Three models were released prior Yamaha started developing V2 engines. The '88 model is the first reverse TZ250U (3AK) '88. Then came the '89 Tz250W (3LC) '89, quite similar but with a few differences, like a newer design on the bodywork, more strengthened engine components, better brakes and powerjets on the carbs. Last reverse is the TZ250A (3TC) '90, with the major differences from the previous model being a smaller crankcase and 5'' rear wheel. This model win the Isle of Mann at an average of 185 Km/H...

Just a teaser...

Scratching my head, trying to come up with a paint scheme for my mc28. Any ideas are welcome! I think I'll keep the Tyga tail section, definitely keep the PVM magnesium wheels and maybe keep the stock ferings for road use and buy a TSR bodywork for racing use. As always, no comments about my workshop, please!

Pgm units ...under the knife.

The next few days will be tight... as I'll have to repair quite a few Nsr250 & Crm250 PGM units. A Pgm unit for Kostas (GR), two units for Nick (AU), one for Ryan (US) and a Crm250 MK2 pgm for Jackysiu (HK). Please, no comments about my workspace!

Just a misunderstanding...

...though thanks for the kind words! Well, this Nsr250 Mc28 is not mine but if anyone is interested I can go and have a look. Nsr250 Mc28 at raresportbikesforsale.com
